Sir Knights,

I trust that all of you had a blessed Christmas and are your way to a wonderful 2010!

At our January meeting, we had a fantastic turnout of 22 Sir Knights, in spite of the freezing weather. E. J. Hebert prepared a delicious Jambalaya dinner including beer and a desert. Paul Bondor will prepare the February meal.  Al Ramirez reminded all that $20 dues and ERE support is due.

The next Fourth Degree Exemplification is Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Rita’s in Harahan. Please invite Third Degree Knights who you feel may be interested in becoming a Sir Knight to our pre meeting dinner on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. We will answer their questions about the Patriotic Degree and help them to complete the paper work.

Please mark your calendars for the February 2 meeting. We will continue to discuss and vote on fundraising activities, and we need your ideas and suggestions. We are planning to again bake and sell bread, date to be announced, and we are exploring the raffle of a television.

Also, remember to bring one or two non-perishable food items to our monthly meetings so that we may continue to support the Food Bank.

Thank you for all that you do to help make ours an outstanding Assembly.  And, from my family to you and yours, we wish our best for a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.

VIVAT JESUS!

COLOR CORP COMMANDERS REPORT
Wesley Russell 674-3965

Brother Sir Knights,

May all of you and your families have a Blessed 2010.

The Color Corp closed 2009 with the final Call-Out on December 20, 2009. This was the 2nd quarterly Corporal Family Mass for the Holy Trinity Council 14614, E. J. Hebert, GK. Thank to all Sir Knights who attended from Our Assembly 2467.

Dressed in Regalia were: Sir Knights Paul Bondor, John Calico, Ron Geauthreaux, and Erie J. Hebert.  Two other Sir Knights who dressed out were Tom Carter and Earl Hernandez. We offer a special thanks, and our appreciation to three who were just Knighted at the last 4th Degree Exemplification in Carencro. These Sir Knights were Richie Evans, Bib Oddo, and Tex Stevenson. These three Knights were Tuxedo Men and we welcome them and encourage them to purchase the Regalia and join the Color Corp.

You are all invited to get the Regalia and join the Color Corp.

Call me if you have any questions about the Color Corp and/or the Regalia. May God Bless each and every one of you and your families this year.

VIVAT JESUS!

Excellence in Religious Education
SK Jim Hagen, Assembly Chairman
jim3234@bellsouth.net

About twenty-five years ago Past Master Emile Reggie (now deceased) saw a need for a Committee that would help teachers of Religious Education who wanted to further their education in order to be a better religious teacher. The problem was that they could not afford the tuition.

There are seven Dioceses in the State of Louisiana. All monies collected in that particular Diocese stays in that Diocese.

In the previous year the New Orleans Diocese received about $5,000.00 for this purpose.

Just how does the program work? Each member is encouraged to donate an extra $5.00 with the payment of his dues. Our Assembly 2467 has a membership of 71 members. This number is based on the audit report of last July. This membership number based on a $5.00 contribution for each member gives us a quota of $355.00. So far, this fraternal year, we have collected $266.75, leaving us a balance o $88.25, to reach our quota of 100 percent.

Please consider this when renewing your dues foe 2010 – 2011.

A footnote:  Several candidates for exemplification have included $5.00 extra to the Excellence in Religious Education program. I want to take this opportunity to thank them.

Yours for the greater glory of God.

VIVAT JESUS!
Fraternally,
SK Jim Hagen
E. R. E Assembly Chairman

Sir Knights,

Brother Knights I have not attended the monthly meetings lately because I cannot leave my wife by herself and have not been able to arrange to have someone stay with her while I go to the meeting. I’m working on finding a solution and hope it can be resolved in time for the next meeting.

A number of you guys have offered to stay with her  while I get a haircut or have to go some that I can’t take her with me, and I want them to know I really appreciate their concern.  I have a need for some one the  to stay with her on Tuesday  after the Council meeting.  From 6 pm until about 9pm. I’d like to attend the Alzheimer’s support care givers meeting.  If you are interested give me a call. There is nothing to do except be present and keep her company.

Let us KEEP CHRIST in our hearts throughout every year.  Let’s bring HIM back into our daily lives.  HE is our salvation!   Pray the Holy Rosary at least once a day. To Jesus through Mary!

VIVAT JESUS!
Sir Knight Al Herron

BEARLEN@MSN.COM

My Brother Knights, one of the many benefits you have as a member of The Knights of Columbus is the Orders exclusive life insurance program.  There are a number of other benefits available to you as a member of The Knights of Columbus. The participation in the Life Insurance, and other, programs is strictly volunteer, and only available to K of C members and their immediate families.

Brother Knight, IF you are sincerely interested in learning more about all the benefits available to you give me a call. I’ll be happy to visit with you and you wife and bring you up to date on your benefits. I assure there will be no high pressure for you to participate in anything.  It’s strictly up to you what you want to do.  Give me a call, let me show you some of the benefits you have as Knight of Columbus.

Fraternally,
Len
